Your child’s first visit is all about creating a positive, comfortable experience. During this appointment, we will review your child’s dental and health history and complete a gentle, comprehensive exam. We’ll also provide nutritional guidance and helpful tips for home care.
Depending on your child’s age and needs, we may also perform a professional cleaning, remineralization therapy, and take any necessary X-rays. Dr. Beck will take time to answer your questions, discuss any findings, and help you understand what to expect as your child grows.
If we do find any areas of concern, we’ll walk you through the next steps and recommend the best treatment options for your child.
How You Can HelpYou can play a big role in making your child’s first visit a great one! We encourage parents and caregivers to talk about going to the dentist in a light, positive, upbeat way - sharing fun stories, songs, or simple explanations of what to expect.
Try to avoid using words that may cause unnecessary worry, such as “needle,” “shot,” “drill,” or “hurt,” as these can create anxiety before your child even arrives.
As always, we welcome you to stay with your child during their appointment. As your child ages or becomes more confident, they can choose what makes them most comfortable.
